It was a Leyland Leopard PSU3C.4R with Plaxton bodywork that was new to Southend as its 201. 619 (SVK 619G) after it became driver trainer DT619 137 (AVK 137V) was a Leyland AN68A.2T with 86-seat Alexander bodywork. 512 (MVK 512R) 758 (LBB 758P) 427 (OTN 427R) and 554 459 (OTN 459R) 446 (OTN 446R) with a Northern General Leyland National following 117 (EJR 117W) - a Leyland Atlantean AN68A.2R/Alexander - and Metro-Scania BR111 DH, 769 (OCU 769R) 770 (OCU 770R) 1836 (GNL 836N), another Leyland Leopard PSU3C.4R, but with Alexander DP49F bodywork. 428 (OTN 428R) 528 (MKV 528R) 257 (SCU 257S) has broken down in service 323 (AVK 143V) heads away from the camera, towards the oncoming 316 (AVK 136V) - ready to pick up a good load 167 (AVK 167V) 308 (VCU 308T) 500 (MVK 500R) on the Tyne Commission Quay service, andshowing the clean offside lines brought about bu providing a nearside staircase. 427 (OTN 427R) was a Metro-Scania BR111 DH 441 (OTN 441R) 459 (OTN 459R), the last of the batch 466 (RCU 466S) 484 (RCU 484S) 765 (OCU 765R) after it was rebuilt to single-door configuration. 760 (LBB 760P) was formerly a two-door 74-seater 768 (OCU 768R) 487 (RCU 487S) 602 (C602 LFT) was a leyland Olympian with Alexander bodywork, one of a reasonably large batch 1898 (OTD 827R) was new as Lancashire United 483. It is seen after acquisition and operating for Blue Bus in Newcastle.
